Glad it was a dry run!

The weather is crappy in our neck of the woods so fireman left earlier than normal so he could make it safely and make sure the person he was relieving had a good head start home. So needles to say the best I could get for him was a poptart (holiday print) and an offer for coffee that he passed on and took a Monster drink instead. Sunday will be better. Already planning a baked french toast - maybe if he smells the yummy food he will be more likely to sit down! And of course if the weather is better.

Have a great Thursday!

Tomorrow is the dry run!

Tomorrow morning I am going to begin my experiement that is going to last for 122ish mornings. The number of mornings I kiss my fireman goodbye for his 24 hour shift, asking him to be careful and then once the door clicks shut ask the Lord to keep him safe and bring him and his brothers and sister firefighters home to us.

We are like most firefighter families with kiddos living a crazy life day to day pay check to pay check. I want so much to have quality time with my husband and can't find it. If I sacrifice a little bit of "beauty sleep" to get up before or with my fireman and make a healthy breakfast for the two of us then presto - quality time before he leaves!! Keep your fingers crossed. I REALLY want this to work. I miss my quality time with my fireman and think this may be a pretty brillant idea. Or I could be delusional from all the eggnog and fruitcake and this could be short lived. I am going to say my glass is half full and breakfast with 1280 will be the next sliced bread in the firefighter world!!

Now I just have to keep his belly interested and full. If anyone has any ideas for great breakfasts please leave a comment!!

Have a Blessed Day!!
